Does anyone else reflect a lot on their birthday?  I’ve recently had mine and as I get older I’m finding I’m reflecting more.

As I look at pictures like this one of my daughter there is a part of me that longs to be younger again!! I see so much of me in her. There are so many exciting journeys waiting for her, some will bring happiness some sorrow...but they will build her personality.

All my experiences have brought me to this point in my life...we are never too old for excitement and change!!

So now as I sit and reflect and type this I realise it is time to plan new advantages for me, I’m still very young at heart 🤍

But how many of us think self care is an indulgence rather than a necessity?

It’s so important to recognise when we are caring too much about others that we forget to care for ourselves.
.

It’s so important to take small actions to schedule in time for yourself, make a list of your priorities and see what can wait for another day.
.
.
Try saying no !! Now this can be hard but if you’re feeling tired and need a rest be honest and say that you need to slow down and take a little time just for you.

I love this quote and often think of it when looking at the flowers around me.  These beautiful flowers all look stunning and the smell is just divine in my room!!

We are all guilty of comparing ourselves, wether it be on social media, through our work or when with friends. 
.

When we put all our focus on other people we lose time that we could invest in ourselves. What do we need? What would make us happy? These are questions we should be asking.
.
.
Social media is a great source of inspiration but do you need a detox?  If there are pages that trigger feelings of inadequacy, self doubt or frustration then take control and detox from them.
.
.
Being grateful for what you have is another great way of stopping comparisons.  When you find yourself looking at what others have remind yourself of what you’re grateful for.  I recently found myself feeling frustrated I didn’t have the same amount of followers on my page as other people I follow.  To stop these feelings I reflected on what I did have in my business and that many people were grateful for my videos and self help tips.  Feeling good about ourselves can come from the smallest of things with no comparison needed 🤍

With so many new followers I thought I should share a little about me.  I’m 46, have two beautiful children aged 17 and 8 and a very supportive husband!

I was widowed when my son was a baby, but some how managed to cope and continue working as an Intensive care nurse.  After many years on our own I then met my husband and we had our beautiful daughter....my family complete 🤍

I’ve battled with postnatal depression, anxiety, fertility issues and now in my mid forties I’m learning to love myself and embrace my grey hair and the menopause!!

I’m passionate about my business and love supporting all my clients with reflexology.  It’s so important we all have that special place we can escape too, relax and find ourselves.
